Cassette lead
Introduction
This document describes a cassette lead that can be used to connect a cassette player/recorder to
a CPC664 or CPC6128. The KC Compact requires a different lead.
This lead comprises a 5-pin DIN plug, two 3.5mm mono plugs and one 2.5mm mono plug:
- The 5-pin DIN plug connects to the tape connector of the CPC.
- The two 3.5mm mono plugs are used for data input (reading data) and
data output (writing data).
- The 2.5mm mono plug is used for remote (controlling the motor of the cassette player/recorder).
Notes:
- This lead is not necessary for the CPC464 or CPC464+ because these machines have a
built in cassette recorder.
- This lead can't be used with a unmodified CPC6128+ because this machine doesn't have
a connection for a external cassette player/recorder. The CPC6128+ must be modified before
this lead can be used.
- The remote lead is provided for cassette players/recorders that support this feature.
- This lead can be used to connect the computer directly to the sound card of a PC or Mac.
